Our partnerships bring the right people around the table to facilitate positive change.
The betting and gaming industry has a long history of collaboration though groups and organisations such as the Gambling Anti-Money Laundering Group, SENET, Remote Gambling Association (RGA), Association of British Bookmakers (ABB) and the National Casino Forum (NCF).
As the single industry voice, we are proud to continue this tradition to develop partnerships with some of the biggest brands and companies to develop industry wide initiatives that have lasting impact.
Some of these, such as the new code of conduct for VIP programmes, have been in collaboration with the Gambling Commission. Others, such as funding for a new youth education programme, have been in partnership with agencies such as YGAM and Gamcare. We have also worked with broadcasters who donated air-time to our safer gambling messages during Safer Gambling Week.
Through the Betting and Gaming Council, our members continue to join forces to be valued members of the communities in which they operate. In 2020, this partnership working raised £2.9M for NHS Charities from the virtual Grand National.
We continue to engage constructively with government. Our 2020 AGM broadcast an address from Nigel Huddleston, Minister for Sport Tourism and Heritage and we welcomed his pledge that the gambling review will get the right balance between protecting the vulnerable and spoiling the enjoyment of our customers.
Partnership working makes us stronger, and we will continue to ensure that forging alliances delivers tangible improvements to our world class industry.
