Our Policy, Research and Insights team engage with a wide range of stakeholders, representing members’ interests to government officials, the Gambling Commission and other regulators. We led the industry’s response to the Gambling Act Review White Paper, working with members to deliver key reforms laid out by successive governments, and continue to advocate for a thriving UK betting and gaming sector whilst championing industry action on creating a safer gambling environment for all punters.

We run a variety of committees and forums, ranging from the Safer Gambling Committee through to the land-based Casino Committee, which bring members together to discuss key policy issues and share expertise across the sector. We also convene dedicated working groups on high-priority policy topics, enabling the BGC to develop evidence-led positions quickly and respond effectively to the most pressing issues facing the industry.

The PRI team produce research and insights, utilising member data to assess trends across the industry, track the impact of government policy, and identify where deregulation could benefit operators, consumers and the government. We respond to public consultations, providing a united industry voice, produce research and work with external partners to commission research.
