This is an industry committed to making big changes. And I am determined it will be a race to the top on industry standards.
INTRODUCING THE BETTING AND GAMING COUNCIL (BGC)
Betting and gaming is a key part of the UK's dynamic and diverse leisure and entertainment industry. It raises around £3.2 billion in taxes for the UK Exchequer, contributes £7.1 billion to the economy and supports approximately 110,000 jobs.
As the single industry body, we work with our members, large and small, to raise standards, create a culture of safer gambling and build public and institutional trust in our world class industry.
Established in 2019, we represent over 90% of retail betting shops, online betting and gaming operators, casinos and bingo operators. We put the customer first to drive standards over and above regulatory requirements to ensure a safer, fairer betting and gaming experience for all.
Put simply, our members go further. They sign up to our strict code of conduct and actively commit resources and funding to work with us to improve standards.
To ensure maximum impact, we use, support and fund consistent evidence-led approaches and get the right people around the table to facilitate positive change.
While we have already made great strides forward, we are not complacent. We remain determined and committed to working with our members to push forward voluntary reform for the benefit both the industry and its customers.
